Winners of the 2024 CSR National Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge

Judge’s Choice Winners:

• Kindergarten Division:

  • Dana Ebrahimi, The Sidney Ledson Institute – Dana’s Lemonade Stand

    • Dana, at six years old, created a unique lemonade stand offering various flavors and decorations, including lemon mint and saffron ice, providing a refreshing experience for customers.

• Grade 1/2 Division:

  • Lucas Wilson, Mensa Canada’s Gifted Youth Group – Fizzy Bubbles

    • Lucas developed a CO₂ canister refilling service for soda stream users, offering a convenient and eco-friendly solution to a common problem.

• Grade 3/4 Division:

  • Jayle Bhayani, The Sidney Ledson Institute – Digital Agenda

    • Jaylen introduced the "Digital Agenda," a tool designed to help students stay organized and environmentally conscious by reducing paper usage.

• Grade 5/6 Division:

  • Sonya Kara, The Sidney Ledson Institute – Chore Charm App

    • Sonya developed the "Chore Charm App," an organizational tool for kids that combines task scheduling, chore management, and outfit planning in one user-friendly platform.

Community Choice Vote Winners:

• Junior Division:

  • Everett Omoto, The Sidney Ledson Institute – Veggie Sidekicks

    • Everett created "Veggie Sidekicks," a range of flavorful powders to make eating vegetables more enjoyable for kids, promoting healthy eating habits through a fun and interactive approach.

• Senior Division:

  • Jaylen Bhayani, The Sidney Ledson Institute – Digital Agenda

    • Jaylen's "Digital Agenda" also won the Community Choice Vote for the Senior Division, reflecting its appeal and potential market success.

Winners of the 2023 CSR National Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge

Judge’s Choice Winners:

• Kindergarten Division:

  • Everett Omoto, Sidney Ledson Institute – Breakfast Popsicle

    • Everett, at just five years old, impressed judges with his innovative "Breakfast Popsicle," designed to save parents time and promote children's health.

• Grade 1/2 Division:

  • Lucas Wilson, Mensa Canada's Gifted Youth Group – Build And Learn

    • Lucas presented a subscription-based STEM activity service, "Build And Learn," demonstrating a strong understanding of educational products.

• Grade 3 Division:

  • Kenneth Omoto and Ethan Liu, Sidney Ledson Institute – VocabMark

    • Kenneth and Ethan developed "VocabMark," a product aimed at enhancing vocabulary learning through reading, showcasing their insight into educational needs.

• Grade 4/5 Division:

  • Sonya Kara, Sidney Ledson Institute – The Poochpack

    • Sonya introduced "The Poochpack," a practical solution for dog owners, demonstrating confidence and a clear understanding of her target market.

• Grade 5/6 Division:

  • Brendan Alilovic, Mensa Canada's Gifted Youth Group – Math Teaching Business Idea

    • Brendan captivated judges with his math teaching business concept, delivering a professor-like demonstration of his proposed lessons.

• High School Division:

  • Avi Shah and William Li, University of Toronto Schools – Students4Students

    • Avi and William presented "Students4Students," an affordable extracurricular business idea that had already garnered interest from a TDSB school for a pilot run.

Community Choice Vote Winners:

• Elementary Grades:

  • Everett Omoto, Sidney Ledson Institute – Breakfast Popsicle

    • Everett's "Breakfast Popsicle" also won the Community Choice Award by audience vote.

• High School Division:

  • Avi Shah and William Li, University of Toronto Schools – Students4Students

    • Avi and William's "Students4Students" earned both the Judges' Choice Award and the Community Choice Vote.
